What do you do with a couple of chili plants
in your garden that produce lots of fruit?
You make yourself a chili ristra!
Ristra means string in Spanish.
Traditionally they are hung near the entrance of a home
symbolizing an abundant harvest.
Hanging a ristra brings good luck.
I'm looking forward to a bowl of thick chili
out of my cast iron pot as the weather gets cooler.
