The lake

I have 40 squares done for my "Lake Cabin" quilt.

That makes only 59 to go. This will be very scrappy when I get it finished...just the way I like my quilts. One of a kind, colorful, like grandma's made from her scraps.

I can't wait to sit under it with a cup of coffee at the lake. But now I'm talking about next year.

This weekend we will be by a lake just with another quilt. I take a quilt with me wherever I go.

side tracked

I am easily side tracked.

I saw a quilt on instagram the other day. The maker listed the pattern and fabric line used for it. I located the fabric on etsy...$80! Now I know fabric is expensive and I had my finger over the buy button when I decided to wait until the next day and hopefully come to my senses. Well I did come to my senses and began to tear up my sewing room looking through my stash to copy her quilt.

This is when I got sidetracked...I found this five fat square bundle I've had for quite awhile. I threw aside my lake cabin idea and put together this sweet baby quilt. It needs to be backed and quilted yet.

So for now it's back to my lake cabin quilt and Mr. b is looking for a lake-side spot to park our rv.

There were roosters in my little sewing sweatshop this weekend...

and I love a pretty chicken print.

I had to climb up on the top shelf to get this feed sack for it.
I'm selective with who I share them with.

I'm pretty sure I know who will be claiming this bag.

Just call her, " That crazy chicken lady."

Sunday

Good morning.

We actually thought this ornamental grass wasn't coming back so we ran out and purchased another plant. Soon thereafter it came up and we planted the new plant in another spot.

Multi pocket organizer

I was up for a challenge with this one.

I learned two new pocket inserts...and this bag is full of pockets.

It is the perfect bag to throw in the bottom of my project bag.

Aren't those little sheep cute!
It's been in my stash along with the lining just waiting for the right project.

It even has a pocket for my skittles.

I just may make another one tomorrow.

It's a boy!

I have two baby gifts ready to go today. Both boys.
They each have a quilt, a receiving blanket and bibs.
All specialties of mine...and I love making and gifting them.

The flannel quilt below is backed with grandma's old and rare chenille bedspread.

It's always hard for me to cut into these but what better way to be able to cherish and hold onto them.

Congratulations to the new parents.

reds

The 4th of July always makes me think red.

This is a Japanese rice bag.

It would make a great makeup travel bag.

I loved picking through my red scraps to make it.

I'm craving a good watermelon.

It's a good thing we don't live far

from where they grow them best here in South Dakota.

But it will be another month before they are ready.

Those beautiful wood bowls are from Dakota Man.

Yes, I'm a lucky lady!
