Magnolia Pearl

I knew when we drove by this place there was something familiar about it.
Magnolia Pearl clothing will pop up on my Pinterest from time to time
and while the clothes are way to young and hip for me I get a kick out of their styles.

The whole compound exemplifies Texas so well.

I was disappointed to find out they aren't open until spring.

I'm sure we'll be back.

guilts

Friday we went to a Hill Country quilt show.
The quilt show's theme was "Along the Silk Road."

The colors and patterns were beautiful. There were over 250 quilts.
I'm glad that I have two quilts to pick up from the quiltshop
and I wasn't tempted to purchase anything at the show.

Texas backroads

We really enjoy driving  the Texas backroads with it's native architecture.

These all date back to the mid 1800's.

You just don't see homes like these in South Dakota.

happy birthday

We had a good day yesterday celebrating Mr. b's birthday.

He chose a German restaurant in Fredericksburg Texas for lunch.

He ordered jagerschnitzel...

and I had rouladen with spaetzle.
We both grew up on good German food.

This vanilla bread pudding served as birthday cake.

Fredericksburg is a great place to spend a birthday.

piece of cake

Texas had an ice storm here yesterday.

We filled our water tank and turned up the heat

and toughed it out like the good Dakotans that we are.

"Piece of cake," we said.

My new yarn bowl was a gift.
Isn't it beautiful with it's Texas blue bonnets painted on it.

I got lots of knitting done during the storm.
