peaches

You guessed it...today I made a small jar (one cup) of peach preserves.

Peaches are in season across the border in Mexico 

so they looked pretty good in the grocery store here.

Skip the bread. Just give me a spoon.

blue Friday

I stamped a few puppy squares for a baby quilt before our trip.

 

This morning I made a jar of blueberry preserves.

They are hard to find in stores

and making my own is so satisfying not to mention delicious.

We love these little hole-in-the-wall smoke shacks here in Texas.

Mr. b will always put the brakes on for some smoked pork.

 And I finished embroidering one more quilt square.

Seems we both like pork huh?

let it snow

 I almost finished this square for Christmas.

                                                                      

                                    We may see a snowflake or two here in Texas tomorrow.

                      The temps will be in the 30's. But luckily for us we are South Dakota strong.

You won't hear us complain. In a day or two we will be back in our lawn chairs.

the woods

We are settled in at our campsite for the next couple of months. 

There are lots of deer and birds that come out of the woods behind us.

We enjoy watching them from our large back window.

I am happy to be embroidering when I'm sitting.

Life really is good in the woods for us.

meat

We love all the meatmarkets here in Texas. Afterall we grew up with meat markets.

I think most of us boomers can remember a Dodd's Market 

or Mettler's Meat Market.

Not to mention the local bakery, a movie theater 

and how about Habicht Clothing?

This morning we enjoyed peppered bacon with our eggs. 

There was no shortage of flavor there.

Three days on the road and we are in Texas Hill Country.

It didn't take Mr. b long to find a golf course.
