A 46 degree day in late May calls for a good book, green tea

and a light weight quilt.

Osage County

We were pretty excited when we got to Pawhuska, OK

to check out the Pioneer Woman

and found out they were in the process of filming the movie

"Killers of the Flower Moon."

I was also reading the book at the time. It's a tragic story and pretty unbelievable.

A block of the mainstreet was roped off while they changed the storefronts back to the 1920's.

They also built a train station with track and two cars.

I can't wait to see the movie!

The Pioneer Woman

We took a little detour on our way home to check out

The Pioneer Woman in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

We got there early to have breakfast and it didn't disappoint.
She definitely lives up to her cooking reputation in her restaurant.
I have got to learn how to make her Spicy Cowgirl coffee.

Mr b thought my sausage gravy is better.
"Ree you might want to contact me for my recipe."

After we walked off our breakfast
we went back to her P. Town for a wood fired pizza.
We ordered the Not Knots and a small Steakhouse Pizza.
We were in food heaven! Best pizza ever!

After lunch we drove out to tour The Lodge where she films her cooking show.

Nothing here was off limits to visitors.
Does your pantry look like this?

And this wasn't all we saw while we were in Pawhuska...

but I'm saving that for another post.

energized

We are back to our little house on the prairie today.

I always say, "It's nice to get away and nicer to get home."

I was proud of Mr. b...he towed that 33-foot Grand Design

right through the heart of Houston on 4-5 lanes of heavy interstate traffic.

It was either that or go 60 miles around the city.

Honestly! How do people do this on a daily basis!?

Nothing moved in while we were gone, the grass (and weeds) weren't too bad,

the laundry is a mile high and two of our neighbors died.

I feel revived and ready to hit my little sewing sweatshop...

between loads of laundry that is.

Ahoy Matey

Anyone up for a little pillaging and looting trip aboard the Black Pearl?
We set sail at 23:00 hours and head for open water.

This is just one of many ships we have seen down here in Galveston.

Oh Galveston

WE are down on the gulf by Galveston for a week
and spending as much time as we can on the seashore.

Of course we have eat too.

Cruise ships are resuming and we saw two Carnival Ships come into dock yesterday.
