spooky

Are you enjoying Halloween yet?

We had fun putting this little foam spook house together when our four-year-old granddaughters were here this weekend. It was very inexpensive at Michael's and easy to do.
Grandpa put the shell together for us (Grandma doesn't like reading directions, ha) and the girls embellished it with the self-stick parts included in the kit. I applied glue to a few of the pieces.

Michael's has great projects for all ages. I buy a lot of my yarn there.

Be safe!

twos

This is another project I lost interest in after crocheting the first one...

So sweet but so little.

And now for a hat to match...
and I only have to crochet one!

mittens

My new favorite knitting project...

Half mittens in an autumn maize color.
They knit up quick and easy on double point needles.

And now you know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Pheasant season begins in South Dakota tomorrow...
as always I'll be rooting for the pheasants.

It is an absolutely beautiful autumn day here.

]

I wish I knew how to call in sick.
(The boss would love that on "Bosses Day" right?)

But I bet I would still choose to stay indoors and keep making my bags...

Take a few seconds today to get out and smell the fall air
and hear the rustle of leaves.

themes

I began crocheting coasters in themes...
It makes my projects so much more fun and challenging.

These colors reminded me of chocolate chip cookies...

So of course I had to head out to the kitchen and make some.

Can you tell I am easily amused?

crazy lily

I couldn't wait to show you my crazy lily.
After Easter I put the plant outdoors and never got around to planting it like I usually do.
Our hot and dry weather just didn't give me any inspiration to tend to plants this summer.

I tucked it and the little plastic container that it came in under a bush where it would be sure to get watered along with our other patio plants.

And it grew and grew and bloomed again.
Isn't it lovely?

I call it my little reminder from above...

tag...you're it!

Our Dakota Maid etsy shop is constantly playing with new tags...

Don't you just love it when the item you are buying comes with a cute label or tag?

Dakota Maid #2 is doing a great job with our tags don't you think?
She is our shops computer expert...
thanks partner!

I think they add pizazz to all our items...

giving them a boutique look.

princess for a day

Daughter knit and pearl brought her little dog Leia for a visit this past weekend.

She's a sweet little rescue dog that loves attention...
and she got plenty of it from the nieces.

Leia was definitely our diva for a day
as two little girls constantly fawned all over her.

sanity break

Today I stayed home...
to regain a little of my sanity.

I think I may be a little crazy to pass up on a fun day with my mother and sister?

But home is where I function best.

I am a homebody...
always have been and always will be.

Ride'em Cowboy!

We saw bull riding at it's finest Saturday night.
Wow! These cowboys were some crazy tough bull riders.

It was a fun first for us ladies...
myself, daughter and two granddaughters.

We sat very close to the action
and cheered for the bulls, ha.
