Anyone else tired of all the political stuff going on?
Does it seem to get worse every presidential year?
This year has proven why I am a registered Independent.

I had a request for this little elephant
and he turned out pretty sweet.

penquins

With the first snow of the season on the ground

and temperatures below freezing

it is a good time to dig out the rice packs...

or make yourself one like I did yesterday.

They stitch up quickly and are so cute.

witch

The old farmstead we were at a few weeks ago has quite a few old buildings on it.

As we walked by one of the buildings with our granddaughters

I pointed out that an old witch lives in the basement.

  Boy, that got their attention.

I told them that I hadn't seen the witch but I could smell her.

Insert lots of questions here, I had to be on my toes with these two girls.

This is the actual entrance to the basement that we walked by.

I had fun editing the picture a bit.

My grandmother told my sister and I a long time ago

that the boogey man lived in her basement.

Don't you agree that it is my obligation as a grandmother

to carry on the tradition and scare my grandchildren too?

babies

I sewed up a couple flannel receiving blankets this week to donate.

Mr. b cut out the deer which I saw on instagram
and want to picture along with another sweet project
I have on my to-do list.
He really is the dear.

My favorite part is always the fancy stitching around the edges.

I chose leaves and hearts for these.

It's a good day to be ghost

These little ghosts came out of Mr. b's woodshed.

Simple but so so cute.

grapes

Grapes were on sale last week so I bought three bags full...

and made raisins.

Making your own raisins is so easy

and they taste so much better than store bought.

But isn't that the way with everything?

Friday post card

This label caught my attention last weekend as we poked around on the farm.
The grinder has been tucked away in an old barn for decades.

free

Yesterday a semi had rolled over outside of our little burg

and they were giving the surviving eggs on board away.

Guess what we will be eating for the next seven days
as we watch our cholesterol climb?

I haven't enjoyed a custard pie for years.

Who doesn't love a giveaway?

homemade

Fall really is the most  beautiful time of year.

The Prairie Preservationist brought me this jar
of  her homegrown and dried sage...

and daughter knit and pearl shared green beans and salsa with me.

Thank you thank you!

North Dakota

We enjoyed lots of country air this weekend
as pheasant hunting began in North Dakota.
Even the normal Dakota winds didn't hamper our fun.

Tyrannosaurus

No picture is off Mr. b's radar.

He just finished this paint by number and frame.

It's kind of a silly one and you probably won't see it hanging in our living room.

We saw this big guy in Wisconsin Dells...
he was pretty scary looking coming out of the side of a building.

this and that

Our 4-year-old granddaughter told me this morning...
"Grandma I like chocolate chip cookies."
Well, lucky for grandpa.

Daughter knit and pearl sent me a picture of her chickens

foraging in her garden for the end of the season pickings.

I love a chicken photo.

The flowers were stunning in Door County.
What are those red ones in the background?

knits

Knitting hats are always quick and easy.
And it's a good thing to not have
another unfinished project in a bag around here.

And a hat for dolly too.
