the coronet

It's homecoming day here today...

going to be chilly for the marching band and others.

That includes me taking pictures for the local newspaper.

This coronet started out in the hands of mr. b's brother,

who died as a young man in a road construction accident.

Well, then mr. b marched with it as a teenager...

and then our daughter marched with it in high school.

Don't you just love family heirlooms?

It needs some serious polishing and oiling

 before the next generation marches with it.

Still in the case is her 1992-93 band performance schedule

and music selections including -

Gonna Make You Sweat,

Wipe Out,

She Drives Me Crazy,

Funkytown,

Talking in Your Sleep

and Cute...

all which pretty much describe her high school years.

Oh yes, she made her dad sweat, she wiped out a vehicle or two,

  she could drive us both crazy at times,

and she was very cute.

But believe me...

 we enjoyed every minute of our two kids high school years

and miss it terribly (every now and then).
