Matilda Jane

Are you familiar with the kid's clothing line Matilda Jane?
So adorable!
I would compare it to a boho or gypsy style.
The designer has to be remembering the 70's.

I laid out this material and pattern on my sewing table this weekend
when I discovered Matilda Jane style clothing.

Needless to say this is all still on my table undone.
I am rethinking the pattern....

weekend date

It's always a good weekend if we get pizza...
and I have been looking for ways to cut out sugars.
So...
I made a whole wheat pizza crust
and rolled it out thin.
Pizza crust is where most of the sugars are.

Mr. b loved it but
I prefer Papa Murphy's pizza.

We teamed it up with this movie...

The mr loves a good western.

It was a great date night right here at home...
and much cheaper!
We like watching movies from the comfort of our own living room
where no one is kicking your chair or talking too loud
and we can hit the pause button when we need a break.

Best of all we have half of it left for another movie tonight...
and it's my turn to pick the movie.
Movie watching is definitely in my top ten things I like to do.

5 hours

I finished this 5-hour baby sweater
in about 24 hours.

I think a more appropriate title for the pattern would be
Quick and Easy Baby Sweater.
It sure would have taken the pressure off of me
to try to finish it in 5 hours.
It's a good stash buster project.

Here is something I definitely can get done
 in under 5 hours.

These sets include a nice sized receiving blanket,
bib and burp cloth.
All ready to go in our etsy shop.

What's on your to-do list this weekend?

just dropping by...

We always keep our eyes to the sky and on the ground
looking for any new specie of bird that might be dropping by
at Mr. b's Dew Drop Inn.

I caught this pair of white-crowned sparrows
enjoying breakfast
on the ground under our feeder.
This type of sparrow is not native to our area and
I'm sure they were just passing through on their way
north to Canada when they heard that we have
the best little Dew Drop Inn in the state.

flamingo

Dear Daughter...

Flamingos are only beautiful in the flesh...
NOT as front yard ornaments!

coloring my world

Have you seen all the cute colors on etsy?

They looked like lots of fun
so I ordered some molds all the way from China.

I know, "What's different about goods from China right?"

Aren't these little dinosaurs cute?

Or how about all these robots?
The molds can be used for other things also...candies, soaps

So if you're in my neighborhood and would like to make crayons
come on over, bring your own crayons of course.
I got mine at the dollar store.

don't thump your melon

I love any kind of melon
but it is these little melons I'm talking about today...

The granddaughters love their little bikes
and go round and round on them in the garage.

They picked out their own helmets...
aren't they just too cute!

When those training wheels come off
I bet grandpa remembers to move his vehicle.

He will recall our son's first solo flight on his bike...
First he sideswiped the neighbors highway patrol car
before landing in another neighbor's bushes.
No one was hurt and we had a good laugh over it.
