beading

Our 10-year-old granddaughter loves to make beaded bracelets.

When I came across paper beads I decided to make her some.

I hope she wants to make some of her own to add to these.

They are fun to make.

Mexican snakes

I really disliked the plate I had under my snake plant to catch water.

Enter Dakota Man...he turned a beautiful wood plate for it.

It has numerous coats of varnish to protect it.

We purchased the pottery and the plant in Texas.
I love the vibrant Mexican colors of it.

company

Sheets on the line means company is coming!

Daughter knit and pearl and her two girls came for 4 days.
I'm afraid for her it ended up being a working vacation.

She brought her tile saw and her and Mr. b tiled our backsplash and we love how it turned out.
She really knows how to tile!

We wanted to can salsa but ran out of time.
So yesterday Mr. b and I hit a farmstand for fresh vegetables and got it done.
I don't know if it's a fair trade as we will be enjoying our new tile long after her salsa is gone.

There is basically only two things that I can anymore...salsa and relish.

O Happy Day

It's a great day...

Peach crates are in the stores!

Don't even look at the price. A box is going home with me.

Peaches in the mornin'
Peaches in the evenin'
Peaches at suppertime
So be my little peach
And love me all the time.

And now I need to go and do a happy dance!

vintage

It's no secret how much I love vintage.
This old and rare shed is a Montgomery Wards catalog purchase.
I have researched the sheds numerous times but never can find much on them.
This is what one man wrote online...

My old rusty tin shed has lasted for many years and still going strong. It was purchased at Montgomery Ward for $39.99. That was a steal of a deal to the consumer. This shed's dimensions are 6 feet by 8 feet and is somewhat roomy once you poke your head inside. Thinking back when this shed was constructed, I remember it taking all day and the instruction manual was roughly sixty pages long. It took for ever to dredge through each page one by one, it was a very long process that still puts a strain in my mind just thinking about piecing it together. There was a box of tin sheets and a bag of nuts and bolts that came with it, there wasn't any missing parts.

Embroidered pillowcases, what can I say? Another vintage tradition.
Serveral of these I even crocheted the edges.
