no pockets? no problem

I have a few tote bags I like to use with no inside pockets.
Small items are always hard to find in the bottom of the tote
which prompted me to make this large zipper pouch.
I will need to make a few more and problem solved.

vegetables

I wonder if any mother ever told their kids to paint their vegetables?

I am much better at painting them than eating them.

graduation quilt

Daughter Knit and Pearl and I put our heads and stash fabrics together to make this quilt for her best friend's daughter who graduated high school this weekend. Jeepers these kids grow up fast!

We wanted something girlish, but not juvenile, with bright colors.

I even had time to do this cute embroidery for the back of it.
I hope she loves it.

to go

I made a zipper pouch for my brushes today.

I want to be able to throw all my waterpaint supplies safely in a tote bag
when we go camping.  They will be easy to travel with.

Now where we going Mr. b?

Counting Sheep

I have a new quilt in the works.
I'm dealing with lots of pieces and details but I love the process.
I had to hit a fabric store for this one.

And when I need a diversion I get out my paints and paint sheep.

Wood Shed

 New from Dakota Man...

Definitely one of my favorite paintings he has done.

And these pen holders... North Dakota Aspen, Wisconsin Cherry and Louisiana Cypress.

I can't decide which one I want to keep.

Agnes

I finished this knitted doll today.

She was waiting for hair which always challenges me but I think it turned out well.

She is ready to join her friends in the playroom.

weekend chef

Weekends signal valuable time spent in my kitchen.

This pull-apart bread is delicious but I'm going to keep practicing presentation.
I think I got that quote from my high school home ec teach Mrs. Lynch.
Believe me she didn't teach me a thing...I could have almost taught that class.
Which brings up the D I got on the cuts of beef test. I still don't know that.

I loved my mother's pull-apart bread but she didn't teach any of her three daughters how to make bread.
It's a hands on skill.

Mr. b picked up a rotisserie chicken or as I call it "50 Ways To Please Your Lover".

I made a large pan of chicken enchiladas and have chicken and rice soup simmering on the stove at the moment and there is still left over chicken. It doesn't get much more budget friendly.
Don't forget the three quarts of bone broth I made with the bones and carcass.

I'm dreaming of a garden here.
I quit gardening years ago...not enough rain, too many chemicals in town,
too old, bla bla bla excuses excuses.
