I am a sucker for wood toys and I love these farm animals

Dakota Man cut out for me.

I'm trying to decide if I want to paint them or just apply a coat of bees wax.

I may have to sew up a bag this afternoon to store them in.

red white and mickey

While it's still July and I am in a red, white and blue mood...

I dug out this quilt kit that I splurged on several years ago and started cutting it up. Have I told you a hoarder lives in my little sewing sweatshop?

Do you love the Mickey mug I bought myself last month in Florida.

handmade

Dakota Man makes the best Waldorf toys...
a hallmark of a "Waldorf toy" is that it be nourishing to a young child's senses.

Is there anything more fun than kids in a July 4th parade?

Freedom

Dakota Man cut me some rustic stars for my July decorating.

I bought an ice cream maker and we love it. We forgot what real ice cream is supposed to taste like. I added blueberries this time which broke up the creaminess a bit but it is still delicious.

The year is 2010 here...I miss these years, they grow up so fast.

I've had a couple of pails of seashells sitting in our garage for a few years, adding to them every year.
Last night when I was supposed to be sleeping I decided they would make great mulch beside my rustic shed where I continue to add things from our trips like rocks, driftwood and old tree stumps.

Six hour ribs on the smoker. Mr. b makes some mean ribs.

spinning tops

Dakota Man turned some toy tops for me.

The bowl and toy truck also came from his shop.

He's pretty handy to have around. Today he did laundry, hung our sheets on the clothesline, chopped vegetables for my salad and helped me clean the kitchen.

Be sure to read my book..."How To Train A Husband."

July

We all know what this week is all about.

You know when July rolls around I always have to dig out some red, white and blue scraps.

This may be the last three-inch quilt square I ever make.

Try to have a safe week...
