nutcracker
A nutcracker pocket doll...
fun to knit but maybe a few too many details.
I will be making another one after Christmas.
I think pocket dolls are so cute.
Merry Christmas from knit and pearl.

Christmas tour
My sister Lisa invited me to a Christmas luncheon Saturday
and it was absolutely lovely.
It was fun snapping a few pictures.
She is the decorator in the family.
Their home was so festive.

Barbie
Santa was signed up to make Barbie Doll furniture.
I wonder if she has a big screen tv?
"Darn cute," I say.

on the farm
Dakota Man went right to work
when I told him my farm peg dolls needed a truck.
I've said it before, "We make a good team."
I'm addicted to these little playsets.
I really do need to get a few other things done but...

crazy cats
There's a lot going on at our house these days...
We are so lucky to be able to do the things we love.
I made this crazy cats drawstring bag a few days ago.
I think it may have taken me an hour.

The Greatest Show On Earth
Q: Why did the clown go to the doctor?
A: Because he was feeling a little funny!
This cast of circus characters needs a lion yet.
I would have loved a pocketful of these peg dolls as a kid.
I know painting them is a lot of fun.

call me
Dakota Man has been in his workshop too...
It's a busy place this time of year.
Silly little ornaments.
Do you recognize all the tiny cell phone components?

the maker
I forgot how much I like painting peg people.
Our youngest granddaughters discovered the ones
I had painted for their cousins
and I loved watching them play with them...
which prompted me to make these for them.

snow
Our second project over Thanksgiving was a paper mache house...
We painted, glittered and snowed them.
They all turned out very pretty.

Dakota Maid
A new bag from Dakota Maid...
It is large enough to hold a sweater project.
I used a piece of faded denim to make sure I have to keep it.
I really like the patches I put on it.
Some screen printed stamps and Tim Holtz fabric to line it.

gnomes
This was a craft project that we did
with the granddaughters over Thanksgiving.
Gnomes...honestly so easy.
Socks, rice, fur and a wood nose.
It was all glued and not much of that.
The girls loved them.

mice
Thanksgiving 2019 is now in the history book
and we can officially begin thinking about Christmas.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our son's home.
It was go go go and today grandpa and I are recuperating.
There may be a big pot of turkey noodle soup involved.
This little family of mice went to our four granddaughters.
Just four girl cousins hanging out discussing what color of balloon they want.

home ec 101
I finished up these jumpers for our youngest granddaughters today.
I think they look like something my sister and I may have worn in 1960.
I don't know when they started dressing little girls like teenagers
but it's not a look this old fashioned grandma likes.
They don't have a Disney princess on the front
so they may go straight to the back of the closet.
And if they do wear them I'll snap a picture to show here...again.

more projects
I grabbed a couple of scraps yesterday
from my little sewing sweatshop and had mr. b screen print them.
I'm still thinking about what to turn them into...
some kind of bag I'm sure.
What started it all was when I saw a drawstring bag online
that I loved. It was also $50 which I didn't love.
Stay tuned in...
when I finish my current project these may be next.

crafting
This grandma always comes prepared
with a craft project up her sleeves to do with the granddaughters.
Our Thanksgiving will include paints, snow and lots of glitter
to make Christmas houses with these.
But for now I'm enjoying this little house in it's basic form.

monday
Today I am at home thinking about our Thanksgiving menu.
It's time to start looking for those recipes and making a grocery list.
There are many things to be thankful for
and food on our table is high on the list all year long.
I am also cutting out jumpers for our youngest granddaughters.
Does anyone call them jumpers anymore?
Mother sewed us dresses for Christmas
and we were always excited to wear them.
My sister and her husband stopped in yesterday with a car full of puppies.
Seven to be exact. Definitely an overload of cute.

knitting
I have been spending a lot of my spare time knitting on this afghan.
The project was given to me as a partially crocheted afghan.
I unraveled it and began crocheting it in the same pattern...twice!
Defeated, I finally tore it out and started knitting it.
I love the colors that were picked out for it
and finally have it large enough that it keeps me warm while working on it.

fowl
Daughter knit and pearl requested a cover for her new Chromebook.
She is always a good excuse to dig out my chicken prints...
and yes these are her chickens.
