stitching up aprons

Yay! It's watermelon season here!
Eat up because they are as good as they are going to get
during August and September in South Dakota.

I'm celebrating with this cute apron.

This beach cabana apron tells me,
"It's time to take a beach trip soon."

industrial

I whipped up a few zipper pouches last weekend.
I wanted them to fit into more of an upscaled industrial shop?
What do you think?

They are made with a heavy canvas that has a screen print on the front.

I lined them with a themed cotton muslin.

I think they would look perfect in this setting.

favs

More wee braw bags...

I love these fabric combos.

Sheep always make for a fun knitting bag.

It's another hot August day here in South Dakota.
Playing in my air conditioned sewing space makes me happy.

These bags have definitely turned into my favorite project lately.

my playhouse

I was inspired this morning (Pinterest)
to doll up the playhouse a bit.

I sewed up these pennant flags in small calicos from the old stash.
See that shark jaw hanging on the window?
Mr. b brought that home from Florida for our son many moons ago.

I couldn't travel from the land of corn into the land of cowboys
without picking up a few fabrics.
I think some people call them souvenirs?

rent a canoe

We spent the last three days enjoying the Niobrara River
 in Valentine, Nebraska.

We have talked about tubing it for years but may have waited to long now.

This couple and their dog were just getting in.

There are lots of these outfitters along the river
if you want to rent a canoe, kayak or tube.

Lucky for us the temps were only in the mid-seventies
and we weren't temped to do something stupid at our age.
But I'm not crossing it off my bucket list quite yet.
