strawberries

Curly-locks, Curly-locks wilt thou be mine?
Thou shalt not wash dishes, nor yet feed the swine,
But sit on a cushion, and sew a fine seam,
And feast upon strawberries, sugar and cream.

What are you doing today?

You dang right he can!

by the sea

Sea Bag knock off...

because you really can't justify
 $150 - $190 for the real thing.

This bag will hold a lot of stuff
and it has 4 pockets inside for your sunglasses,
sunscreen and cellphone.

I am learning to cook seafood at home
and that the best place to cook it is outdoors
if you get my drift (wood).

Come back here later to see two more sea bags
from my little sewing sweatshop.

bundle it

Every week an etsy seller lists fabric bundles that are real tempting.
It's on a first come basis and you have to be fast
on the buy key  to buy her bundles at her designated time.
Very nerve wracking!

I put together my own bundles
to prove to myself that I really don't need more fabric.

Completely off the subject:
I love old seed packet art.

What do you think?

butt

Happy Father's Day Dakota Man!!

He has been working on a new project all weekend...
well actually two new ones.

While he was working in his man cave
I took leftover smoked Boston Butt
and turned it into a fantastic pizza for our lunch.

We wood fired it
and are calling it our favorite pizza for now.

Moose Lodge

I am really enjoying this camper decorating.
So far it's just little things like these pillowcases I made today.

Secretly I would like to get rid of the
(as our son pointed out to us) old people design.

The wallpaper border, the upholstery fabrics...
the dusty pink carpet!!

We got the moose and book from daughter knit and pearl and girls...
they know we are always on the lookout for moose
when we visit them in North Dakota.
One of these days right?

the truth

THE MOST
DANGEROUS
LIARS
ARE THOSE
WHO THINK THEY
ARE TELLING
THE TRUTH

A new stack of coordinates in the little sewing sweatshop.
I may be cutting into these sooner than later.

princesses

Our second camping trip took us to Wiley Park in Aberdeen, South Dakota
with daughter knit and pearl and her two young daughters.

Storybook Land, which was just a short walk
from our camper, was our destination.
I call Storybook Land, "One of South Dakota's best kept secrets."
Free admission really helps my review of the place.

Saturday in the park was Princess Day.Image result for princess quote

We visited the park all five days we were there
and just had a great time.

Farm Fresh

I liked this sampler when I first saw it on pinterest
and from there managed to hunt down the pattern.

It was fun to embroider...
I love samplers.
I may have to do another one soon.

Dakota Man and I collaborated to make this wooden chicken.
Have I said, "We make a great team."
I purchased an inexpensive wooden frame at Wal-Mart
and chalk painted it black.
The chicken is also chalk painted to look old and worn.

Rise and shine!

It's hot

I was really heating things up in my little sewing sweatshop last week.
I don't know if it was my sewing machine, the iron or me?

Just when I thought I was done making bags
I ran across my nautical fabric.

This is definitely the time of year
when I begin longing for a sandy beach.

Most of these fabric pieces I picked up in Belfast, Maine last year.
You can about imagine how it tore me apart to cut into them.

I like to make the inside of my bags as appealing as the outside.

Now I'm going to try and talk Mr. b into a tropical vacation!

create

We delivered our wares to market this weekend.

Pricing things can sometimes take me a full day.
It's not my favorite part of the whole process.
Mainly I like to create.

I enjoy sewing zipper pouches.

Can you tell I designed them with bikers in mind?

I had an epiphany yesterday.

Why does one think you can only eat seafood by the seashore?
I may be learning to cook lobster soon...
right here in the heartland!

spa time

I discovered recipes for shower steamers on pinterest.

Just three ingredients...
baking soda, water and essential oils.
Easy peasy.
I chose lemon and lavender oils for mine.

I have silicon molds for making crayons that I used.
This heart shaped one is perfect for my spa.

Is it shower time yet?
