Friday Finds

A few of my recent projects that have gone unnoticed here...

My first attempt at a diaper bag...
I love the Wrens & Friends fabric by Moda
that I used for it.
My sewing machine just isn't industrial enough
for sewing the type of seams this bag calls for.

This fabric basket turned out cute with all the funny cats on it.
I may have to make myself one of these.

I love cutting up old children's storybooks
and applying them to wooden blocks.

The Amish puzzle ball did just that...puzzled me trying to put it together.
I made two of them years ago for the granddaughters
and finished this one in time to take to our newest grand.
She loved it.

And finally...

strollers are coming out with the sun...
and baby will need a bonnet.

What do you think...
should I be working in a baby shop?

beautiful edges

I came across another way to hemstitch my own handwork...

and my $200 serger beats a hemstitcher
 that runs over $2000.

These burp cloths really are a bit fancy for baby's spit-up aren't they?

There is a woman in the same assisted living center
as my mother that still does the most beautiful crocheted doilies.
And when she puts down her crochet hook she goes outdoors for long walks.
I aspire to be her in 25 years.

What do you mean?

"What do you mean Grandma and Grandpa left?"

From our daughter last night when we got home....
loved it!

Easter greetings

How was your Easter?

We didn't see two of our granddaughters
so I needed to put together a little something for their Easter.

Silly bunnies...
for silly girls!

We did have a nice time in North Dakota
with our daughter's family.
More on that tomorrow...

Pinterest

Do you love Pinterest too?
The photos! The ideas! The free patterns!

I got this idea on Pinterest to buy a package of 4 receiving blankets
to make bibs and burp cloths.

What a great idea!
And economical.

Four coordinating fabrics...
and NO waiting in line at the fabric store!

Thank you Pinterest!

Dakota Kids

From time to time we will get mothers
with older children at our booth...
and children like to shop too.

These pencil pouches should appeal to kids of all ages...
they sew up quickly
and I get a chance to dig out fun novelty prints.

...maybe mom will want one for herself?

At $8 each they are a bargain
and hopefully mom can't say no.

20!

I challenged daughter knit and pearl
to make 20 bibs in 20 days.

I enjoy a good challenge
and hoped they would use up some of my stash.
Look there's Mr. b's flannel shirt!

I included something for every baby...

boys and girls.

There are bibs for monster babies...

and farm babies.

For Babies that like bugs and flowers...

or cats and dogs...

even dinosaurs!

And the 20 bibs barely made a dent in my stash!
20 burp cloths?
